ECRM RELEASES NEWSMATE SOFTWARE FEATURING
AUTOMATED PAGE PAIRING FOR NEWSPAPER PRODUCTION
ECRM Imaging Systems today released ECRM NewsMate. NewsMate includes ECRM RIPmate, their industry standard RIP, based on Harlequin technology, and an automated page-pairing feature for newspaper production. Using NewsMate, multi-page PDF sections are delivered to a “hot folder” where they are automatically paired in appropriate order for plate imaging. Individual pages can be quickly and efficiently ordered prior to automated pairing, saving substantial labor and production time.
ECRM NewsMate also provides production tools for commercial print by supporting automated page impositions from 1 to 64-up. This gives the newspaper printer options to effectively and efficiently produce commercial work to better utilize press resources and gain new revenue streams from commercial print without needing redundant workflow solutions.

Pre-Production Soft Proofing: The ViewMate feature allows the user to easily view and soft proof plate images after RIP processing and before committing to plate. The zoom capabilities of the roaming feature allow for the viewing of the full plate signature right down to close inspection of individual page elements;
Remote Control: Using a client/server interface, operators can manage all functionality of the workflow from any workstation on the local network. The RIP engine can easily be in a location remote to prepress production and be fully controlled without physically being at the RIP station.
